University of Montreal Hakkında Bilgiler

Montreal Üniversitesi, Kanada, Montreal, Quebec’teki bir Fransızca kamu araştırma üniversitesidir. Üniversitenin ana kampüsü, Outremont ve Côte-des-Neiges mahallelerinde Royal Dağı’nın kuzey yamacında yer almaktadır. Kurum on üç fakülte, altmıştan fazla bölüm ve iki bağlı okuldan oluşmaktadır: Politeknik Montréal (Mühendislik Okulu; eskiden École Polytechnique de Montréal) ve HEC Montréal (İşletme Okulu). 71 doktora programı dahil olmak üzere 650’den fazla lisans programı ve yüksek lisans programı sunmaktadır.

Üniversite, 1878 yılında Université Laval’ın bir uydu kampüsü olarak kuruldu. 1919’da papal tüzüğü ve 1920’de il tüzüğü çıkarıldıktan sonra bağımsız bir kurum haline geldi.
